ABSTRACT: The article reviews the current state and development trends of the artificial intelligence (AI) economy in Uzbekistan. It analyzes the governmentʼs digital transformation initiatives, the national AI strategy, and the regulatory framework aimed at promoting innovation in key economic sectors such as banking, healthcare, agriculture, and public administration. The study identifies key challenges hindering the introduction of AI, such as insufficient technical infrastructure, a shortage of qualified specialists, limited investment in research and development, as well as gaps in data management and cybersecurity. Particular attention is paid to the role of international cooperation and public-private partnerships in accelerating technology transfer and creating local AI capabilities. Based on a comparative analysis with regional and global experience, the article outlines the prospects for further development of the AI economy in Uzbekistan, and proposes measures to strengthen the innovation ecosystem, improve human capital, and create favorable conditions for sustainable digital growth.
