Abstract. This article evaluates the level of sustainable tourism development across the regions of Uzbekistan, based on 2025 data from the National Statistics Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Ten indicators – covering economic efficiency, regional balance, and environmental status (including environmental load)-were selected, normalized using the min-max method, and aggregated into an equally weighted integral index. The resulting index values ranged from 0.348 to 0.728, leading to the classification of the regions into three distinct groups. While Tashkent City and the Samarkand region achieved high scores for economic efficiency, they showed low results for the environmental sub-index. In contrast, the Bukhara region demonstrated a relatively balanced performance across all three dimensions. These findings indicate that the sheer volume of tourism activity does not, in itself, guarantee sustainable development within a region. Based on the specific characteristics of each region, the study proposes targeted recommendations and highlights the necessity of improving environmental statistics related to the tourism sector.
