Abstract: This study is devoted to a systematic analysis of internal and external factors that determine the sustainability of the capital base of commercial banks. Unlike traditional studies, the issue of capitalization is examined not as a set of individual indicators but as an interconnected four-component framework consisting of profitability, asset quality, currency structure, and market infrastructure. Based on the official statistics of the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan and assessments provided by international rating agencies, a five-year trend covering the period from 2021 to 2025 has been constructed. Furthermore, possible development scenarios for each of the examined areas have been compared and evaluated.

Keywords: commercial banks, capitalization level, resource base, bank capital, authorized capital, capital adequacy ratio.
