Abstract. This article presents a scientific investigation of the methodology for reflecting tax liabilities in accounting practices in the Republic of Uzbekistan. The study reveals the differences between the legal and economic content of tax obligations and comparatively examines the disparities between national accounting standards and international financial reporting standards. Specifically, the mechanism for identifying, evaluating, and reporting deferred tax liabilities in financial statements is analyzed based on the requirements of IAS 12 “Income Taxes.” The research findings indicate the presence of terminological ambiguities and methodological limitations related to tax obligations in national standards. Consequently, scientific and practical recommendations have been developed to address these issues.
