Abstract. This article examines the transformation of the system for assessing the creditworthiness of bank customers and the improvement of credit risk management in commercial banks. The study analyzes the systematic limitations of assessing creditworthiness solely on the basis of financial (quantitative) indicators and substantiates the need to integrate non-financial (qualitative) factors into the assessment process. As part of the study, an integrated scoring model for assessing creditworthiness (CRI), based on a 100-point system and incorporating both quantitative and qualitative indicators, as well as a corresponding rating scale, was developed. The practical significance of the proposed model for retail and corporate lending portfolios and its expected economic efficiency were empirically analyzed.

Keywords: creditworthiness, quantitative indicators, qualitative indicators, integrated rating, scoring assessment, commercial banks, non-performing loans (NPLs), risk management.
