The study focuses on the accession processes of Russia and Kazakhstan, their integration into the international trading system, tariff and non-tariff regulation mechanisms, and their role in regional economic cooperation. Russia joined the WTO in 2012, while Kazakhstan became a WTO member in 2015, marking an important stage in the development of their foreign trade policies and integration into the global trading system.<\/em> <em>At the same time, the participation of both countries in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) created a need to coordinate global and regional trade rules and obligations. The article analyzes the main challenges to the development of free trade in the CIS region, including non-tariff barriers, differences in technical regulations, customs procedures, and transport and logistics constraints. <\/em><em>The study argues that further development of free trade in the CIS region requires the digitalization of trade procedures, reduction of non-tariff barriers, development of transport corridors, expansion of industrial cooperation, harmonization of technical standards, and effective coordination of international and regional trade commitments.
